In an effort to launch the first self-driving vehicle, automakers are turning to tech-giants in the Silicon Valley for additional expertise in hopes of accelerating technology and testing.

Coming hot on the heels of all those auto shows, BMW Group has just announced that March 2016 was the best single month for sales yet. This is great news for the Bavarian automaker, which saw hearty numbers posted from across its model range, signaling the strength of its lineup moving forward. Overall, BMW saw an increase of 2.9% over the very high sales numbers of the same month last year.

BMW has never been a company to shy away from bold innovation and big concepts, which is why the recently announced BMW i3 Pick-Up Truck concept has piqued the interest of us here at Thompson BMW. While it won’t be available for purchase, the unique i3 vehicle will be adopted as a fast-delivery service car internally at BMW, much like the similarly styled BMW M3 Pick-Up concept from a few years ago.

The BMWs we know today are descended of jet engines, and that lineage shows up in a surprising way in some of the newest BMW models: Heads-Up display, similar to the kind found in today’s modern fighter jets. Within the past couple days, BMW introduced the 2016 M2, which won't be available until April, at the Detroit Auto Show. The car's idea had roots in the BMW M GmbH. The M2 is sporty and aerodynamic, with an engine that delivers 365 horsepower and 343 pound-feet of torque. This car is going to be a ton of fun to drive... but don't take our work for it.
